Guilds, an underground video game phenomenon which closely resembles gangs!
|
ok so I was surfing the web(rather than working) today and fell apon this mess
http://www.mavav.org/ Mothers Against Videogame Addiction and Violence, ummmm yeah.
ok so here is their i guess credo
"Video game addiction is without a doubt, becoming this century's most increasingly worrisome epidemic, comparable even to drug and alcohol abuse. All the while, the video game industry continues to market and promote hatred, racism, sexism, and the most disturbing trend: clans and guilds, an underground video game phenomenon which closely resembles gangs. Parents NEED to be aware of the hidden dangers.
Aaaaallllrighty then, so now we are a hateful, racist, sexist gang. um yeah sure......The people who write this drivel are the ones we should all be afraid of, I fully believe they would ban most computer games if they could, they would impose what they feel is right on you "for your own good" and I doubt if it would stop there, these are the kind of folks that would call child services if they saw you swat your child's butt in public, they would have no problem(in my opinion) forcing their ideas on the population at large if they were given the chance, and that's scary.
I can hardly express just how much I dislike this kind of trash, bad research(if any)poorly drawn conclusions and outright BS that fills the site. I resent every insinuation made on the site, I played Dungeons and Dragons as a kid and have played computer games since they were text based, I have played every bad, violent game made(I really loved the game Postal btw) and I always play the bad guy if given the choice, yet I have never been arrested for anything, I'm very intelligent, have a college degree and I believe that my wife would tell you I am as nice a guy as you'll ever meet. Ok well enough of my ranting about clearly deluded morons. Blaming video games for bad parenting may work for them but I ain't buying it.
Just in, I found this site http://www.wowdetox.com/ I looked at it and All I could think is"you must be kidding" nope they are not, there is also a site for "women against world of Warcraft", and these people think I have no life, lol |

Helpful Argent Tournament Info
|
I have pretty much finished with the Argent Tournament, All I have to do is turn in the last bunch of Valiant's seals but, I have discovered some stuff on the way I thought I should share. first of all if you are having trouble with the jousts here is the strategy Kraftz and I have been using. Before you start the challenge make sure your shields are green then stand next to the npc you challenge facing the same direction it is, after you challenge it, it will ride out, hit your charge as soon as it is useable, don't try to use shield breaker first due to the cooldown. after you charge them make a quick "U" turn and then use the shield breaker and quickly close to melee range, keep melee attacking till they move away again, don't move just wait for them to get into charge range, charge them then turn, use shield breaker and again close to melee range quickly, this is a good time to refresh your shields as even if they stay green they will time-out eventually if you do not refresh them. Just keep repeating that sequence and you should do fine. After you get the 25 seals to become a champion you can turn them in but if you are not revered with that faction you may want to wait, the dailies that give the seals also give 250 rep so you can continue to do the quests to build up rep since you need to have exalted to get titles like "of Silvermoon" after you turn in the 25 you have to move on to another faction so this is a good chance to grind rep if you need it. after you finish all the factions and turn in the seals for the last one you can no longer do the seal quests and that's the loss of a couple dailies and several hundred gold worth of daily quests.
for the "At The Enemy's Gates" quests you go to the Icecrown citadel area, these are easiest to do if you have a partner, the Boneguard Lieutenants are pretty easy, just charge them and melee while backing up, this also kills any of the footmen that get near. the commanders are where a little help is handy, you can solo them by kiting them to either the stairs behind them or back to the camp but if you have another person doing the same quest they can stand back and spam shield breaker till the commander is down. for "Threat from above you will need a group of at least 2 people and 2 dps and a healer is best, be sure to kill all three of the bomb guys riding on the dragons back, they jump down at like 75%, 50% and 25% of the dragons health, ask in guild chat if there is anyone else doing the quest and if not there is usually groups forming in Icecrown that you can join.
The Coliseum is supposed to be finished with patch 3.2.0 and they are thinking there will be new quests and such added with that patch, but until then this is a pretty easy set of dailies and the chance to grind some rep too.
